WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU’RE BEING BULLIED?

If you’ve read the Doofuzz Dudes books you’ll know that Howard Soured is a very nasty bully. You might even know someone just like him at school. Bullies are a real menace and the best thing that can be done is to stop them in their tracks as soon as possible. What you don’t know is that bullies have serious self esteem issues, and they bully people to make themselves feel stronger.

So what do you do if you’re being bullied by someone?

The best idea to tell someone who can help you. There are lots of people who can be of assistance. Tell your parents, grandparents, older brothers and sisters, teachers, friends, school counsellors or someone else you trust. They’ll tell you what to do or tell you who can help you.

Teachers and counsellors are specially trained to know what to do with bullies so it’s really a good idea to speak to them. If you tell someone and they don’t come up with a solution, then don’t give up, tell someone else.

Some tips in dealing with bullies are – Just ignore them.
If you see a bully coming your way, go the other way. If one catches your bus, catch a different bus. If one lives in your street, don’t go past their house. Keep in the company of other people.

If you’re alone, a bully has a better chance of bothering you. Act as confident as you possibly can. If a bully senses that you are scared then they will be more likely to pick on you.

Above all, remember that you are a unique and wonderful person.

Don’t let a bully make your life a misery!

 Isabel from Haberfield says

 Bullies!
If someone bullies me I ask them to stop and if that doesn’t work I tell a responsible adult like a parent or teacher.
I absolutely HATE bullies because they make everyone miserable but I also feel sorry for them because they might bully people because of a  problem at home or because people used to treat them like that.
But still,  there is no reason to be mean to other people.
