Book review -The Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar

The Doofuzz Dudes is about 4 boys, William, Toby, Tom and Huon who rescue a place called Moondar. They are a group of good friends. For Toby's birthday they go to The Knoll and find a treasure chest in a cave containing a crown and a book of spells. Toby puts on the crown and read the first page.
Little people like leprechauns jumped out of the page, who are called Moondarians. The little people come from Moondar and have to save it, but first they have to go on an adventures and breathtaking journey to save Moondar. My favourite character is Toby because he is the king and he gets to say and do most things.

I would recommend this book to children 9 and up because some of the words are a little bit hard.

I would give it 9/10.By Amy, Northmead.

Dear Roslyn,

I really thought your book was great. I loved Tom's cross eyes and I thought the geese with red lace-up
boots and a blue leather cap were funny.
I've never read a better book.

PS my mum loved it too!

I’ve been reading the Doofuzz Dudes to my two sons, Ben and James, every night at bedtime.
However, unfortunately they aren’t very good bedtime books because they laugh too much!

Tony Whittaker, Alice Springs

I adore the Doofuzz Dudes. When are you going to publish the next one?

Emily Zhang, Artarmon

Thanks for sending the three Doofuzz Dudes books – they are great! Our 86 year old book reviewer also thinks so
and it’s not often he gets as enthusiastic as this.

Tamaso, ‘Over the Rainbow’, Nimbin

I won the Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar at school and I liked it so much I bought the Princess Detector and
Babbling Bottles. Now I can’t wait for the Black Pearl of Laramoth. Could you come back to our school and read to us again?

Tessa Bell, Bronte

__________________________________________________________
I’ve been reading the Doofuzz Dudes to my daughter Brittany, and I must confess that I like it just as much as she does.
I suspect however that you model some of the weird characters on people you know. Am I right?

I like Iguana Lillee the best and Brittany’s favourite character is Zarundok. Those Bertha cousins reminded me of people
 I’ve worked with!

Joan Dickens, Prospect

__________________________________________________________
My daughter Annette has Downs Syndrome. I bought her a copy of the Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar and I read it
to her every day. She absolutely loves it. The last time she was this enthusiastic about a book was Harry Potter, so
you’re up there with the best!

Cynthia, Mosman

__________________________________________________________
My favourite Doofuzz Dudes book is the Babbling Bottles. I love the way the Dudes go into the past in the Moon Tree.
Could you write a book where they go into the future too?

Harry, Northbridge

__________________________________________________________
I love books with magic in them. My favourite book is the Doofuzz Dudes and the Princess Detector because
I love how the Dudes get the magic letter off Aunt Hettie using a spell from the Spell Book.

Duncan Brady, Asquith

__________________________________________________________
My friend Valerie gave me a copy of the Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar for my birthday. I really love it.
My favourite character is Tom because he crosses his eyes and makes funny faces. My brother does
that and it makes me laugh. I like the Joking Giant too.

Steffi, Berowra

__________________________________________________________
I’ve been reading the Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar to my classes at school. They really love it and their
favourite part is when the Puzzle Master arrives on the scene. I’ve had to read that to them twice!
We’re looking forward to your visit.

Jean, Librarian.

I’m always looking for new children’s books and I’m so glad I found the Doofuzz Dudes series. I enjoy reading them
to my kids just as much as they enjoy hearing them.

I think we’ll be hearing a lot more about the Dudes…

Beverley Ashton, Blackheath.

__________________________________________________________
My favourite book is the Doofuzz Dudes and the Princess Detector. I think the Shengoogle Goblin is funny. I think it’s funny
how you called the fish, Opal Winfrey Swirlers. Where do you get your names?

Charles Xiu, Strathfield
.

My name is Charlotte. I’ve been reading the Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar to my brother Jack. We both really love it.
Sometimes I have to look words up in the dictionary. My favourite character is Bareth the Dragon. Jack loves Ergo the
Puzzle Master and Bobo.

Now I’m going to buy the Doofuzz Dudes and the Princess Detector.

Charlotte Gordon, Chatswood

__________________________________________________________
I have a dog called Bobo too! I have read all three Doofuzz Dudes books. When are you going to start selling the
Black Pearl of Laramoth? I give the Doofuzz Dudes 10/10.

Tracey Hilton, Killara

__________________________________________________________
The Doofuzz Dudes are great. I like the Babbling Bottles best because the Dudes go into the past in the Moon Tree.
I wish there was a real Moon Tree so I could go inside it. Guess what? My favourite food is chocolate too!

When are you going to come back to my school?

Catherine, Naremburn.

__________________________________________________________
I have read all the Doofuzz Dudes books now. My favourite is the Princess Detector because it’s the scariest.
I got really scared when the Dudes went to Mount Dredlock. I don’t like Prince Florian because he’s really nasty
and I don’t like Howard Soured. Howard Soured reminds me of Fred Blackett at our school who is a bully.
He stole my lunch one day.

Could you write more about the Shengoogle Goblin please?

Charles Ashton, Dubbo

__________________________________________________________
My brother is called Toby and our cat is called Bobo! But my favourite character in the Doofuzz Dudes is Huon
because he is so funny. I like it when he puts the whoopee cushion on the chair for the Dudes to sit on.
My friend Klara used to do that all the time but one day we did it back to her and she didn’t like it at all.

I think the Dudes should play a trick on Huon next time.

Tash Lee, Lane Cove

__________________________________________________________
Where do you think of the names for all your characters? My favourite character in the Doofuzz Dudes is Tom.
I get green hair too because of the chlorine in the swimming pool.

Are you going to write about Kimberley Nelson again?

I like the Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar best.

Stephanie Porter, Dulwich Hill

__________________________________________________________
I sent my cousin in Amsterdam a copy of the Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar and she rang me and
said that her next door neighbour is called Thomas Halfweeg! He’s fourteen years old. She’s going to
send me a picture of him for your website. He doesn’t have green hair though!

Sylvia Johns, Willoughby.

__________________________________________________________
I love the Doofuzz Dudes because of all the magic and stuff. I really like the Hawthorks and I like the Quigglers too.
My favourite Dude is William because I wear glasses and once I lost them when I was on a ride at Luna Park.
They fell off my nose on the big dipper and got smashed on the ground. I got into heaps of trouble from mum.
I wish Zarundok had been there to repair them!

Peter, Summer Hill

__________________________________________________________
My favourite book is the Doofuzz Dudes and the Babbling Bottles. I wish I could travel in a Moon Tree or on a Hawthork.

Could you write some more stories about the Moon Tree please?

The best character is Tom because he’s so goofy.

Vanda Jones, Epping.

I purchased the 'The Doofuzz Dudes Rescue Moondar' for my 12 year old nephew as I loved its colourful cover that promised
a story of magical adventures. As I was gift wrapping it for him I decided to read a few pages and was not able to close the book.
I was compelled to read it from cover to cover and found it absolutely delightful. One exciting adventure follows another and the
characters are so well developed I felt an affinity to them immediately. Above all, the author, Roslyn J Motter, apparently has a great
sense of humour, as I found myself chuckling with appreciation at some witty comment or funny situation again and again.

Also across came a certain sense of homeliness and family values, as in the beginning of the book I almost felt myself sitting in
mother's warm kitchen. And I loved the friendship of the boys and the way they looked after each other. Needless to say, my
nephew loved the book as much as I did and is impatient to be immersed in the next adventure of the Doofuzz Dudes.

I am not ashamed to admit I also look forward to reading the next book as soon as it is available.

An appreciative reader. . . . Erika JonesBondi

I loved you reading the Princess Detector at our school so I bought it straight away. I liked it so much I bought the Babbling Bottles.
I really liked that too, but I still haven’t read the first one. My little sister asked if you could make the books into CDs so she could
listen to them. When are you going to come back to our school? Can I join the club please?

Miranda, North Rocks

I finished The Black Pearl of Laramoth last week. it was really good.  The part I liked best was where Toby was kidnapped
and locked in the wine cellar with the king. I thought it was really funny how Toby taught the king how to play cards. Evan has
finished reading it too. We can't wait for the next book.
thanks Josh.
